§ A privileged place

33º south latitude is a special geographic point, the most adequate for the cultivation of vine and olive. The climate of this geographic zone is characterized by great temperature amplitude in winter and sunny days in summer. These conditions, together with the scarce rainfalls and the sandy and permeable soil make the cuyana area the most appropriate for the cultivation of vine, making it possible for it to compete with and excel the best and most traditional European wineries.

These are the characteristics of the place where Tittarelli S.A.’s cultures are.

§ Characteristics of the Region

Soil: franc sandy
Climate: pedemontano dessert, “estepa” type; with thermal amplitude of 15º C; humidity under 50%.
Rainfalls reach values of 80 to 180 mm a year, concentrated in the periods of November/December and January/February.
Geographic Characteristics: 740 m over the sea level and 33º south latitude.

§ Cultivation Practices

Pesticide free treatments preserve the ecological quality of the grape.

Low yields, good handling of the canopy (sprouts) and balance of the plant are some of the parameters jealously controlled today.

§
Watering System

Every 15 to 20 days, using a superficial method with thaw water of the Andes in Mendoza.

The watering system was created by the Incas. Water is transported from the river through a net of channels to get it to the vine.

§ Location

Tittarelli`s wineries, vineyards, olive tree fields and the olive oil factory are about 70 km east from Mendoza City, Argentina.
